Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to take up music. Not for work or as an interest, but as a way to improve. She began to write writing her own songs. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Her decision to begin performing her music in public when her mother said they could help people not gain fame through the work she does, but to help people see around them realize their own importance and how they could impact the world. She began playing the piano when she was just six years old, then began making music at the age of nine. The family members didn't know about it until the age of fourteen. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. According to her, she just is a fan of writing songs. Music is for her the best way to feel any emotion.
